I love Formosa! I love the casual atmosphere and their veggie options, especially the fried oyster mushrooms that taste just as good as popcorn chicken. Their staff are also so sweet and welcoming. I love ordering from them every now and then

Very cute place with modernized old school vibes of places in Taiwan. This is more of a fast casual restaurant where you take your order and seat/clean up after yourself. For the food, my party of 2 only ordered the beef noodle soup, popcorn chicken, and the signature pork pan fried dumplings to share (this was already very filling and more than enough). I loved the beef noodle soup broth and the popcorn chicken as they both really reminded me of the ones I’ve had in Taiwan Taiwan. I was impressed as out of all the popcorn chicken I’ve had in the US (LA, SF, Boston, and NY), this place was the first place I’ve tried where the popcorn chicken matched the exact taste as the ones I usually eat in Taiwan. The crispness was also spot on. The flavor of the dumplings was there but it was a bummer the pan fried dumplings weren’t crispy. Not sure if it’s just not crispy or it’s due to the sauce drizzled over it causing it to become soggy. Will definitely recommend and want to visit again next time to try the rest of the menu.

Long been on my list and this place delivered! I don’t think you can go wrong with any order here. We had the taiwanese popcorn chicken, the kimchi pork dumplings, and the beef noodle soup. The popcorn chicken was spicy and crunchy and was perfect on it own but that didn’t stop me from dipping it in the beef soup broth. The noodles of the beef noodle soup were toothy, chewy and plenty and the beef was so tender. The Kimchi poor dumpling’s were so savory with the funky spice of the kimchi. I have no notes this place is solid from price point to flavor. Do grab a glass of the winter melon tea also.

super cute spot for a quick casual meal with friends or by yourself. Big fan of the scallion noodles and chive/pork dumplings. they’ve got a great selection of drinks too, I loved the pineapple beer. I can’t wait to try their beef noodle soup next time!

I grew up in Taiwan, so I’m picky about my lu rou fan. The lu rou fan at Formosa was super delicious - large portions, definitely sharable for two people. Taiwanese beef noodle soup was very tasty as well - a little on the sweet side, but had a nice kick and noodles were perfect. My only nit is that the share bowls they give you are not really adequate for sharing soup (too shallow).

Came here for lunch - the service, vibes, and food were all impeccable! I love how beautifully decorated this place is. The food was awesome: we got the century egg with tofu for the second time, and also ordered the scallion noodle, which comes with a perfect sunny-side up egg. Will definitely be back to try the dumplings, and maybe even to bring my laptop and get work done here (they have wifi and plenty of tables and seating!)
